Hi there, and thanks for checking out my Blog.
I have been into bikes for many years and have renovated many bikes over the past 10
years or so, mainly Japanese bikes because they are cheap to buy and I particularly like
Honda v twins and I also like shaft drive bikes.
My older brother got me back into British iron in 2009 as he himself bought a couple
of brit bikes I couldn't afford a bike in good condition so I bought a Royal Enfield turbo
twin with a Villiers 4t engine and did it up to ride on the south west coast run held in early may.
Unfortunately we lost my brother to cancer in November 2010, but he had got me
hooked on the old British stuff and so I started looking for something a bit different
that I could build up without too much expense.
I happen to be looking on eBay one day and spotted a 250 BSA starfire frame and
forks that no one seemed to be bidding on, It was only £50 as it was all a bit tired and
all the mounting lugs had been cut off, but I thought I could do something with it and
bought it.
I considered putting a Rotax 500 single in it, but have heard a lot of negative
comments about this engine and also I believe the drive is on the opposite side from
British bikes, I also thought it would be nice to keep it all British so I discounted this option.
I was looking again on eBay one day and saw a 250 BSA (oil in frame) bike
fitted with a unit triumph T100 engine, I thought it looked great apart from the colour
scheme, so this was my engine of preference, I kept my eye out on eBay for a triumph
engine and shortly after a 3TA engine came up for auction and I managed to get it
for £220.

I liked the look of this bike and so I thought I would use a BSA frame and unit triumph engine,
but perhaps more traditional styling and paint scheme.
I have now started this build and will post updates as I progress with my build.
